Our Japanese pottery pieces include styles such as Imari, Shigaraki, Shino, Oribe, Hagi, Bizen and Kiyomizu, Fukugawa and Raku. We stock traditional tableware items such as sake sets, tea sets and plate sets. Tea Ceremony objects such as mizusashi, tea bowls, kogo and natsume. Ceramic curios from Japan, China and further afar include pottery animals and incense burners.

Our Chinese pottery selection includes antique and contemporary ceramic tea cups, vases and decorative objects including blanc de chine Chinese porcelain figures, celadon vases and platters, bush pots, reproduction Qianlong vases and reproduction Tang style horses.

    Unusual Japanese pottery platter by Ken Sato (b.1961).

    Dimensions: D 28cm x H 13cm
    This piece is built of layers of draped, distressed earthenware. With contrasts of mineral lava-like glaze, milky bleached tint, speckled duck-egg glaze and raw imprinted texture and finish, this is a tactile sculptural statement piece.

    It communicates a playful story of a dialogue between the organic and the manufactured – hinting at the tones and forms of the coastline of the Aichi Prefecture where the artist was born whilst utilizing markings of repetitive line, dints and pressings.


    It comes with its original timber box that has been signed and dated 15th of August in 1989.

    At checkout select the ‘Click and Collect’ shipping method. You will be contacted by a Kazari + Ziguzagu team member who will advise when you can collect your items. Items will be ready for collection within 1 business day and must be collected within 5 business days unless otherwise arranged.

    Charges apply for storage beyond the initial period. You may also decide to use the Click and Collect service if you have an existing/preferred carrier for interstate and international shipping.


    We can ship orders worldwide. Kazari + Ziguzagu uses competitive and reliable shipping services including but not limited to Auspost, DHL and local couriers and carriers, as well as art and antique specific interstate and international carriers.

    Shipping can be added at checkout for Domestic deliveries (Australia).

    Additional insurance may be required as standard insurance may not be sufficient to cover loss or damage of fragile or expensive items.

    Refunds & Returns

    Should you consider an item flawed or damaged upon delivery please email or call Kazari P/L within 5 business days of receipt of the goods quoting the original order/reference number and your reason for returning the item.

    If you are dissatisfied with your purchase for any reason other than a faulty or incorrect item, we cannot refund the goods however can offer a credit note, valid for 12 months from the date of return. In the case of online purchases all shipping costs, including packaging and postage charges for return of the item to be exchanged and dispatch of the replacement item are to be paid by the customer.
