Baskets have been
traditionally made and used as ikebana vessels, since the
C16th when the tea master Rikyu, first adapted and used a
fishing basket for flower arrangement. Ikebana basket making is a
craft that has arguably crossed the line to fine art influenced by
the fine aesthetics of tea-ceremony.
